Yes, very sad news.

Thomas "Gus" Mahon was the inventor of the quick Turbo Dodge. He came up with more tricks for going fast in a Dodge than the rest of us combined.

Subject: FMMLRD Gus Mahon details
Date: Tue, 20 Aug 2002 14:29:59 -0400

With much sadness I was woken up this morning to hear of Gus' untimely
demise in a motorcycle accident last night.

Details are sketchy but what is known is that the driver of the other
vehicle was at a stop sign & then pulled out in front of Gus (Who didn't
have any stop sign at all due to being on the main road.) It's not known if
the other driver was under the influence or simply just didn't see Gus and
pulled out in front of him. The final police report could take weeks.

The wake is Thursday afternoon, the funeral is on Friday at 2:00.

I just returned from Gus' house and that's all the information I have.

Set Perntiss and myself are working on setting up a fund for people looking
to make donations. Gus had never made any financial arrangements if he
should happen to pass away and we would like to ease Dolores' burden as much
as possible.

This is a very tragic event, it was an honor to be called one of Gus'
friends and to have his company.

Gary Donovan

p.s. please pass this along to the other lists, I'll post more details of
the wake and funeral when I get them.

This is really sad to me, I remember how Bob and him used to send emails back and forth trying to figure what was wrong with our Omni. I will always remember the day Bob found his website and how Bob got all into the 2.2/2.5 Turbo Craze, if had not been for Gus I would have never let Bob get the Omni and do the conversion to it. What a shame. He and his family didnot deserve this at all, I feel their pain.
