Default Pig fucker

Drove 4 hours to Coral Springs to look at this fucking '79 Trail Duster. Dad beside me, cash in hand. Get there and when we open the doors, the first thing we notice is the complete lack of front floorboards...they were fucking swiss cheese. The bed had some rust, the left inner fenderwell was eaten away, the battery tray was rusted, the panel below the lift gate was gone. It ran and shifted but when 4wd was engaged, it made all sorts of noise. Knuckles were shot, hubs were shot, interior was shot, it had a ghettoized exhaust, the steering was so incredibly shot it was ridiculous. The coupling from the steering shaft to the saginaw box was typical....one of the worst engineering designs of all time...there was so much play in the joint, the wheel would move a full rotation before turning the tires. The 33x12.50 "mud and snow terrains" wouldn't be able to get through 1 cm of sand, never mind any mud or snow. The windshield gasket was shot, so the windshield was so "fogged" it was incredible. Fucking a. When I spoke to the kid on the phone, I specifically asked about rust on the body and frame...told him it was my biggest concern. he assured me the body was solid and so was the frame. The frame wasn't bad but still. What a waste of a day. I'm so angered. Oh well, we are waiting on digi pics of an '80 TD in St Augustine...I already told this guy what happened to us today and he said he would photograph everything and there is only 1 spot of rust on the whole truck. We shall see.

:withstupid:

I'm not saying all FL cars are bad, but more people try to sell northern cars in fl just because they move here. A nice dry climate definitely helps the cars live longer.

If you have one to fix, fix it. Stop lookin for a new one, these aren't ferds, the one you have is just fine.

If the buying price is right, we would pay to have it shipped. Basically, all we are looking for is a rust free '74-'80 RamCharger or TrailDuster. Engine size is unimportant. I'd prefer the later of those years...was it '79 the "major" (sarcasm) body design change? I know '81 was the first year soild roof and no more pop-top. Bonus if it has a/c and power windows, but that's not required. There are a couple on autotrader.com listed in AZ. I'm sick of these damn rusted vehicles.
