Default a/c and alternator belt removal?'s

Hey all this is related to the 420a.

I've read that one should remove 2 bolts from the alternator to adjust it to take the belt off. I can not reach those damn bolts for the life of me. is it better to go from the bottom or the top?

Also for the a/c unit what bolts do i remove to take that belt off. I've been reading on neon forums but they don't have that issue because they have more room in the bay when it comes to the alternator. Thanks for the help. ( i also bought a manual and i does not even mention the removal of the a/c belt)

Check 2gnt.com, there is links for the FSM on there if I remember correctly. Also, I think it was easier to get to the alt bolts from underneath but it's been 8 years since I have been under a 420A Eclipse so I could be wrong.

well its not a 420a in the neon, thats the eclipse na engine code. 4dre(dohc) or 4sre(sohc) are the noen engine codes.
but you get to the alt bolts from the top right if tour looking at the car from the front. remove the overflow jug and reach down in there between the firewall and the back of the motor.
