81 2.2 carb'd auto? Is it still a 413? I might be hitting Copher's to fix the K when I am down there. Look out yall. The carb K might be running rampant again.
Would a later like a 88 or so auto work in there? Not enough time to go the manual route
Oh well. I think I'll line up against mpbiv
I think it might be the tranny. dunno fer sure, I cant hear anything over all the grinding when I put it in gear.
Jeff any older auto in the yard. Keep an eye out. I will be needing one towards the end of Aug/begining of Sept. Are they still $35ish + core?

Oh yeah and make sure you match the converters. Newer models (like my 8
When you gonna be down? I doubt my car will even be on the road when you are here. It still needs to have the rear damage fixed, and then off with the old cylinder head. And hopefully before August 18 when I go back to Gainesville it will have another cheap paint job.

We are going to be down around Aug 25 till about the 2nd or 3rd of Sept. We gotta meet up somewhere. Think it is possible to switch over to a newer 88ish style tranny? I was looking at Donovan's site and it seems possible but....
If Jeff knows fer sure, If he ever gets his ass on here.

i dont know if things changed internally in 88... but any year 413 will work on a K. L's are what changed in 88.
Just match the converter to the trans like maurice said. THey are the same on the engine side. The later style is stronger, yes... but I dont think that's a big issue with your K, 808.
