turboing a 98 r/t 5 speed
uhhh i dunno much about the motor in those things but make sure it's not know to fail in major ways then of course internal work your not going to go past 260 tops without internals. you not going to get anything cheap your going to spend at least 2500 you have to upgrade internals and if u have a high milage block then a little bore should be done.. then of course fuel, turbo, tubing, etc. etc. NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP ( it';s not a honda)
omg well 1st off a turbo and a turbo exhaust manifold. Then you need an intercooler ( front mount). Air fuel ratio gauge and make it a good one aem ugo wideband is one of the best. Boost gauge fuel pressure gauge. waste gate. turbo time would not be bad.boost controller, something that can manage all that fuel so new fuel pump, fuel injectors, and some kind of upgraded Ecu. and upgrade the tranny OMG you have to tht thing will take such a big shit on u if u don't. Some mild Cams would go good with that. As you metioned b4 some decent internals with maybe a .2 bore on the block since it's best of even mendatory to do that. a bored out intake manifold would not be bad or just a smooth one some are rough as hell. then you need to tap the oil pan for a return line from the turbo you will also need to fab something up for you battery so you can relocate it. gettin rid of p.s and a.c if ur comfy with regular FL. Weather. My friend matt can fab you up a good exhaust turbofold if you want me to check with him on the price i will. He can also help with the build
cheap and easy: stock srt-4 is all i can say. the stock srt-4 turbo manifold bolts onto a dohc head the turbo fits and the down pipe fits right in with no major work. even the srt hot side hard pipes fit right in and runs under the motor where with a little modification to the front frame a srt intercooler will also fit. the turbo itself is the easy part.
for fuel a cheap easy is a walbro 225 pump in a stock canister modded for a return line, you can use a stock fuel feed line as a return line and it fits perfectly with the existing fuel lines. ford mustand 24lb injectors work perfect and are cheap.
