My daughter has a 2003 Pt Cruiser that just quit. It wil crank over but will not start. I can hear the fuel pump come on, I believe it seems like it has no spark. Anything special to look on for these cars? bad coil? I did pull one spark plug wire off the coil and tried to jump a spark but it was late at night so didnt see a spark.

check the timing belt first, if its not getting spark It could also be a cam sensor or crank sensor. those are the most common problems that i know of.

yea thanks, that what it is, the timing belt. It sure looks like a tight fit to change it.

they arnt too bad if you have the tools and a place to do it i think the last one i did took me about 2-2.5 hours, but im also a chrysler certified tech and work at a dealership so i have it down pretty good, someone posted all the steps to do the job in this forum i read through it and its spot on. good luck

well I got it done, got a great deal 250 parts and labor, good friend of mine did it.

but now the tranny doesn't shift out of first a day later. He thinks it some box that controls the shift points so its back at his shop. Not sure if they are related.
