Default 97 neon help

Hi, TR ppl I have a Sort DOHC automatic neon I was hoping for a few ideas for what I can do to improve my neon, my tranny is going out, and I would appericate anyone who can tell me where I can get one on the cheap. Also can an A670 work in one and obviously is it better. I mostly plan on auto crossing and maybe some draging once I replace the original suspension (this has got to be what saddel sore feels like) but it is my daily driver. Any help will be appreicated.

i have a 2.4 bottom end you can throw your dohc head on and throw insome srt pistons/rods which would make a strong long lasting motor good to hold 200/300hp all day everyday no problems....the auto will hold you back swap it to a mtx. i have a spare acr tranny which is awsome for whatever your needs are but it has a welded didd so you would probally want to replace that with a stock one.

Someone had told me to do that before but i really need some wheels/tyres, a new suspension, and body work/paint so I put that idea out of my head for now (the 2.4 swap) the tranny sounds nice however; espically since I need one anyway... lol what else would I need to make it work?

forget abou paint body and rims, think about it what is the neon worth? maybe 1,500 or 2,500 at the most. a good paint/body work will run 1,000 and up, a cheap one $500 so right there you will have %75 of your car value into that which really wont increase the value of the car a substancial amount. wheels and tires...same thing $1,000 bucks on rims/tires on a $1,500 car? just put good rims on stock tires. focus on the mechanics of the car, engine and suspension. and those mods depend what you want the car for drag racing or auto x

the rims ill get later but i want some lightweight 16's for more tyre options, the body has rust really bad, and someone was break dancing on the roof and caved it in, it also has some dents reminscent of a baseball bat. the next thing on my list is a tranny, then i want to get a suspension, after that the body work, after that idk.

If it's just laying around taking up space I may be able to take it, if you want/need $ for it I would probally have to save or work out some kind of payment plan, I know someone who could put in for me I just need to know what else I would need to convert my auto to manual. I can't store it so I would need to get everything together at/around the same time (bigger pieces last) for him to do the conversion before he moves back to NYC once he moves idk anyone esle who could do the conversion.

throw me an offer, i also take trades of car audio/home audio tv/ electronics etc... its actually easy to convert once the transmission is in the rest is easy, i actually just sold a mtx kit. al you need is the clutch cables, mtx computer swaps right in to the harness, axels, shifter assembly, and clutch pedaal asembly it all bolts right in. where the automatic cabels run the mtx ones go and where the auto shifter unbolts and the clutch one bolts right in
