on my way back to tampa i had one thought racing through my mind for the 28 hours it took to drive my lil skittle back here. man i cant wait to meet the srt comunity out here and race( you know the usual 20 year old mentality racing through my head!)! the whole time i spent in texas i was constantly meeting new people with this car and i found my self saying one thing that means nuthin in tampa! "wow i love the comunity this car has!" everytime any1 of us saw a fellow srt driver (or others including hondas or whatever!)that needed help we pulled over to offer wat ever lil help we had. now it seems like we all rag on each other and as if the other car population doesnt hate us enough we have to give them more feul to burn. instead of doing sumthing to bring us together (since one srt owner usually knows 5 to 10 other owners) and have a srt united tampa we fight and say shit that really matters to no1!

im sure you may not like how this one person conducts himself! fine thats him and you are solely responsible for your self, and if so then let him know not talk behind his back or on a thread! it doesnt help anyone change if they way theyr finding out you have a problem is by going on here and finding 5 of the people he used to roll with talkin smack bout him!

all im saying we all dont have to be in a big team or have the same sticker or sumthing like tha all im saying is that instead of talking bad about each other we need to unite and make a good name for our self and not point fingers!

and im sure youv found me saying comunity alot! the reason is becaus thats one thing that makes a car fun! a car its self might be fast and fun and nice looking but a car comunity goes futher into that car! it lets you meet people that share sumthing in common tih you and they have the similiar reason in woning that car! when it comes to our cars its simple!

we wanna go fast and dont have the noney to buy a z06 or spend 40gs to get there! maybe not a 100% on the money but mostly and instead of helping each other were riding by our selves telling all the other people why we hate that other guys so much! its retarded!

im sure theres gonna be alot of people that are gonna come on here and talk theirs sh1t but i dont care i wanna know why all the srt drivers down here are so diff then teh ones in texas and see if any one has sum idea how we can change that problem so we have a better comunity and thus enjoy our cars and the local meets alot more!

 

My suggestion is setting up a local event. I know what you are talking about when a community isn't united as one. From my own personal experience, when the Mazda Rx-8 first came out, people between the Rx-7's and 8's all felt a bit stand-offish towards each other. However as of late, a few local events have brought the Tampa Bay area enthusiasts together as one. We had a BBQ. We are setting up another BBQ in the near future and some other Mazda owners have inquired as to whether or not it is a Rotary only event. I embrace all of my Mazda brethren and so do the rest. I am hoping we will have some 6's, Mx-5's and hopefully some 323's coming out as well because we have found within ourselves that all of our awesome cars have been created by one great manufacturer (Ford's 30% as of 1995 is a different topic ).

Coming here from a well established club must be a bit unerring as it appears from your post the Tampa Bay area has not united under the SRT-4 Banner. You are now building a pyramid and you are laying the foundation. Pick a date at the end of January or beginning of February (Enough time for people to request off and make plans) and have a meet. Have it at a restaurant in close proximity to everyone, or choose a park and have everyone bring something for a BBQ. Take time to appreciate other people's cars and their choices in modifications. It all starts with you. Have fun!

Orlando... I believe we talked about this about 2 Wednesday's ago.

Back in mid 90's to early 2000-2001 Car clubs worked out. 2002+ there's only a couple/few here and there. Those that still exist is more SHOW then GO. Although some do have the GO as well with their "show" cars.

Car clubs are a thing of the past in which won't work amongst enthusiast that are into racing. You were told this a number of times by different people.

I know your referring to us SRT-4 owners that hang out on a weekly basis. But like I told you, were all friends... we don't need a car club. I've been in car clubs, I've been president of car clubs, I've been vice president of car clubs. They simply don't work now-a-days, because everyone is going to do what they want to do.

Us SRT-4 owners that hang out and go to the meets as groups were all just friends and like any other common person out there. We plan the week ahead... we get involved in different things whether its going bowling, playing guitar hero, hanging out at someone's house, bring your dog(s) to someone's house and let them play while we hang out outside or inside, etc. We do different activities, you would be surprised. As you know... 99% of us are adult and outside of our everyday lives of having to work inorder to maintain ourselves, our hobby is cars.

You were out last Saturday and you cannot say we ignored you or talked shit about you. Infact, Dan and I were the one's mostly talking to you.

People are different I agree and they will be different from state to state. People in California aren't the same as people in Florida, people in Florida won't be the same as people in New York. Every place is different.

The scene in Tampa is based on groups of friends. Every once in a while you'll see S2K owners hanging with us and a few other makes of cars inbetween. The problem is us SRT-4 owners have a hard time here in Tampa. Most are out to race us, most hate the car and by hating the car they hate the owners as well. So we already catch a bad rep, slowly more and more owners of different cars start talking to us and realize "Hey these guys aren't bad guys after all". Then they start hanging out with us and what not.

Like I said, don't let TR get to you. Most people on here talk shit to eachother then outside of here they are friends with eachother. I had a bunch of people on here that hated me and now I'm friends with most of them when they met me in person.

 

1. 99% of you are still in your teens.
2. Nobody wants to race you, you guys always want to race everyone, thinking you've got the fastest cars in the world.
