Chrysler Ignition problem!
Chrysler Ignition problem!
Ok Admins....I sugest you sticky this becuase apparently this is a HUGE problem with all Diamler/Chryslers.
I woke up this morning to go to work and I jumped in the wifes 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and go to start the car and ......nothing! The key wont move in the ignition! I take apart the WHOOOLLLLEEEE steering colum and assembly to try to figure it out! NOTHING!...after a few choice words and smacking the car with a fist or two, I decided to check online. And what I found made me laugh and get alittle mad too! I found that ALOT or people were having this problem with there plymouths/jeeps/dodges, and chrysler vehicles. One guy spent up to 25k on multiple parts the dealer told him was the problem. I kept reading to find out that the 5 tow truck drivers and 4 other mechanics the man talk to told him to do this, if this EVER happens again;
1. Put the key in the ignition
2. Grap a $1.00 rubber mallot
3. Proceed to hit the key in the ignition
4. Turn key and start car.
I laughed thinking, "how in the hell could this work?". Well, since i took everything apart and put BACK together.....my opitions were few. SOOO, i went out side put the key in the ignition and took the rubber handle end of a hammer and WHACKED IT 5 good times. I thought it wasn't going to work. WHO WOULD HAVE?!? Well, I turned the key and BAM, the car turned over.
FUCKING CHRYSLER!!!!.......Thought I would pass this BEAUTIFUL knowledge before any one decides to spend 25k on they're POS Chrysler product!

Well if everything works fine, it looks like you fixed it and saved a ton of money.
