ever replace timing belt in a pt cruiser
...just finished the project. A little rough for an old geezer, but "it's alive" again. The forum was very helpful. The dealer wanted $1500 including the tensioner mod and the water pump and the other parts.
...but I have a problem: the car runs good, but it idles rough and will stall. I'm sure I have the timing correct. I'm getting an 1193 code (Inlet Air Temp Sensor). I see no breaks in the wires, but I have a tough time believing that the IAT would simply quit at the exact time I replaced the timing belt. I have a standard AMP/OLM meter. I tried this experiment: Started the car, disconnected the IAT, and reconnected it. There was no difference in how the car ran during this experiment--it still idled rough. I pulled the IAT and checked for continuity. The circuit is not complete, but I don't know how the darn thing is supposed to work. Any thoughts out there in Forum Land?

I'm having the same problem on my Cruiser and was wondering it you ever figured out what was the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I can't get the main pulley off the engine.
I removed all the bolts from the power steering pump bracket that are on the timing belt side of the engine and it still won't come off. Did I miss a bolt somehwere else?? I took off the ones I could fine, yes the ones in the holes to and the one on the bottom of the bracket from underneath.
What the hell. I need to get to work and the repair manuals are vague and crappy.
Anyone have some tips or pictures??
Thanks a bunch for any help.

The instructions don't say anything about disconnecting the transaxle from the left mount so you can move the engine away from the right mount. This is the only way I could get the right mounting plate away far enough to get to the timing belt/water pump, ect...
