Default Tuning..

Anyone in the tampa area or lutz area that can tune my SRT-4? I have a SAFC II soon to get a wideband but just want a basic tune right now.

safcs just dont help much on turbo cars as far as tuning goes...they adjust by rpm, which doesnt help much if your car is boosted, unless you are trying to tune your idle

Well an AFC on a SRT is just a tuneable by RPM map clamp . In high throttle mode its pretty good at evening out the A/F than clamping at 1 voltage for the entire rev range

a map clamp? dont think so, from I understand it just intercepts signals going to the injector grounds, using the tach signal as a base...I wasnt aware it even tapped into the map sensor signal, but then I could have a skewed view...maybe it really intercepts signals from the MAP/IAT and TPS sensors...in which case I can see it working as a sort of map clamp...can anyone verify this? if it does...what voltage range can it clamp? 4.3-4.8v perhaps? if so I can see other uses for a SAFC...interesting possibilities, and then it might be useful for tuning after all, hmm

on yeah, they hack it up to use the map. Map & RPM. Its a really expensive map clamp. You can only pull fuel, via the clamp, which increases timing..yiddda...yidda,....yadda

Lots of people swear by it, but I think its one of the worst piggy back you could put on an srt.

I agree dtec owns all. So much easier to tune too.

You can buy a cheap mapclamp for 40 bucks or so and it will work but you can tune by rpms just by boost so you tend to get a rich dip at mid rpms. These are the only ways to tune the srt4 ( other that aem that just came out but its $$$$$) not worth it to me unless your build and want a higher redline..

If you havent bought the safc I would get the dtec fc. I can get you a great price if you pm me I have a guy in ohio that gets me insane pricing... Also check out the dtec fcbc. Its a fuel controlller and a boost controller in one and you can tune boost per rpm and this helps tons with traction. They also sell a wideband that will hook right to the dtec and you can datalog runs even better. Let me know if you are intersted and ill give you some prices...
