?????im sure anything can be a good "street racing car" as long as it has enough work to the engine. What do you mean by "regular" neon? the r/t is basically a dohc 5 speed (cand remember what ratio) with stiffer suspension. mine is a dohc auto highline and stock for stock from a roll i can keep up with a r/t no problem, but ive heard 5 speeds are about 1-1.5 seec faster off the line.

if yours is a dohc motor and 5 speed an r/t really wont be too much faster.

umm, do you call low 16 second, high 15s a fast car? they really arent much quicker than the base SOHC 5 speed neon...the reason is they are based on the neon highline and are heavy for a 1st gen, generally weigh around 2500lbs, with a 2.4L it will be a high 14 second car....with a turbo 2.4...depends on the setup....not real quick, no, but with the same engine setup as an SRT4 I would say they would be a high 13 second car, so my thoughts...slow stock...decently quick if heavily modified

DSMs with 420a are heavier than 1g neons....considerably but your point is right on the money.
