I am curious as to how the SC61 "feels". I have thought about putting one on my R/T, but I dont want a lag monster. The TO4E 50 on my car now is basically done (it will not hold the desired 30 psi and drops off with rpm.) If I run it at 23 psi as at the track last time, it holds there fine. But, it is hesitant to really do much more once the revs build up.
The party really starts at 4K RPMs

Thats what I want to avoid. My current turbo makes 6 psi at 3000 rpm, 12 psi at 3500 rpm, and hits 25+ psi at 3800 rpm. I really like this type of powerband, but I cant keep the boost up in the higher rpm ranges. I fear something like the SC61 will give me the same results you found...too much lag.

I think I may eventually try a larger compressor side, but keep the exhaust side (currently Stg 3 / 0.63) the same. The boost falloff is probably 90% due to the TO4E 50 trim compressor not being able to keep up. I am sure there is significant turbine backpressure (I have measured it), but I dont really want to trade top end power for loss of too much repsonse.

What turbine side is on this particular SC61? (Precision makes the SC61 with various turbine sides.)

Probably a T350 76 trim. The car is a beast. Very well done. Can't wait to see more progress. I would of opted for a GT3255E or a GT35E. Here is Cody's old T4 SC61 with an S compressor cover. He now has a T3/T67.

Cool video!

I appreciated watching that as I think I will stick with a smaller turbo. The SC61 doesnt look horrifically laggy on the SRT, but does look like it needs some revs to get going.

How much power is that car making?

It made 400whp and 395ft-lbs. When watching that video remember it was a straight T4 with a large turbine wheel and a large A/R on the turbine housing. He got the turbocharger through a trade. He should/would/could of gone with a T3 SC61E T350 76 trim.
