Ok this is a little weird. I have a 95 Neon auto and it recenlty started to slip out of the top gear. now it only happens after it has been running for a bit. i will start to lose 3rd after about 25 min but if I drive very soft then I can keep it in gear. I was wondering if this is going to require a full tranny replacement or a fix. Any suggestions?

 

The tranny might just need a flush and someone to tighten up the bands.

 

I would guess flush and filter too.

The auto tranny has bands that have to be tightened occasionally.

If your into performance and plan on sticking to the auto tranny why not look into some transfer gears or a valve body or a stall converter.

Go to FloridaNeons.org and ask them. Lots of guys on there who know alot and are more then willing to help a fellow owner out.

 

your fluid might be a bit low might want to check that too.
