If you expect to get any money back from them someday... neither?

I think there is alot more out there as far as performance upgrades (turbo kits, etc) for the Neon, just dont expect to sell it for profit, or even get your money back...

Give that Neon a chance and you'll be suprised whay it will do. People say they are crap cars but thats cause most people don't keep up on maintainance. My '99 R/T has been run hard since 22,000 miles and it at 91,000 now and will rev to 7,500RPM w/ out a single problem and still responds very well to the press of the gas pedal, and its still stock internals. Where are you gonna find a car w/ that much power stock and out handle most other cars in its class?

P.S.- Buy and DOHC car and you'll be much happier but some people swear by one bump stick instead of two.

The Neon, Avenger , 95 - 99 talon and eclipses all have the same engine, and have anything you could EVER want available mod-wise.

Well, certain models of each will have the same 420A. Even so, the neon's 420 is different from the Avenger/Sebring's and Eclipse/Talon's.

You can mod both, just not the Avenger as good as you can a Neon. If you want to turbocharge each, check out the Hahn's Racecraft site. Considering you got the i4 engine.
But the Avenger also comes in a 2.5L V6, 6G73. Automatic only which is its downfall. Very similar to the new Eclipses 3.0 V6, 6g72. Both are SOHC, but you can still turbocharge after you swap (recommended if you want bigger displacement). Check out http://www.teamert.com for more.

Personally, the Avenger looks better than a Neon. That's all in the eye of the beholder. Go with an i4 model Avenger. You have the option of manual. Plus there is a big aftermarket for that engine already. Bodywise, check out
