Personally I do ALL my OWN Work, BUT I have been since I was like 8 growing up. However when it comes to Alignments I go for a close enough and take it to the pros with the machinery and knowledge to verify it. I do not know an alignment machine and even if I did I would have NO Freaking Idea how to use it. I believe there are some things WORTH paying for and saving my tires is one. Besides my wife will KILL me if I screw it up since our tires cost upwards of 600+ each. I am not saying that shops are good or bad I TRUST the people explicitly that touch my vehicles and they trust me since they know I am a far worse critic of my own work than they could ever be. Type A BUT I also know where to say this is NOT my expertise and let the pros that it is handle it.

I have also used a straight alum flat bar ,jack in center with front wheels off ground,you can press or clamp the straight flat bar against rear wheel.Similar to the string ,but the line of sight is easier.My flat bar is long gone somewhere,so i thank you for the string video.
