Default auto-x tires

I auto-x a mustang which is a little hefty at 3200 pounds. i've had good results with the Kumho Vr-710s but I'm wondering If I could get away with running th e"rain" version of this tire for the whole season. I was not planning to shave the tread or anyhting, just run them as is. I'm not sure if I would have a problem with them chunking since they'll have time to sit between rounds.
Ive enclosed a link.

Default Racing Rain Tire Preparation

Chunking might not be an issue....

Most racing rain tires I have used get stickier when they get wet.
Were I to autocross them, I would keep them wet in the pits
and put wet rags on them as I was pushing the car up to the line.
Any edge is better than no edge, but at the start, you have it over the guy who doesn't go for it.

If it's not a racing rain tire, I would calculate the square inches of pavement-touching tread surface and buy tires with maximum rubber on the road.

There are other tire tricks that should be researched for your
particular car and you as a driver, and that is best done at an autocross school and/or development day. It might be fun to work it out.-Bob

When I was at the BMW dealership, we had a huge Mini autocross group that had service done on special Saturdays by our head Mini tech. They all loved the V700's, but they all bought them shaved. This was two years ago, and I do not recall if they had any issues with chunking (I am sure at least one didnt get them shaved, but I dont remember if he had any issues or not).

All the competitive guys shaved em. You gotta pay to play...

Yeah, back in the day I was a lot more competitive and would do anything (except cheating, and some would question that) to get an edge. But these days as long as I can have fun and be competitive, I'm good with it. I'm not going to break the bank, it's not the Indy 500.

So, did you go with the Kumho Vr-710 or something else? Impressions?
