Found Cheap Coilovers!!! Need Advice!!!
I got a deal on some used Skunk 2 adj. coilovers, there a little dirty, but look fine other then some surface rust where some small paint chipped. now!! I can get them for $60.00, sound like a good deal?
I will be running them with my KYB GR2 gas shocks, and only going for a 2.25-2.5 drop in the front, and a 2-2.25 drop in the rear, sound like an ok set up?
Sorry for making a new theard about this but i need details and answers and advice on these coilovers, with my shocks, and the drop im going for, and $60.00 is good for used skunk2 coilovers right???
Thanks again for everyones help!

If your talking about these,
They look better then some of the other "cheap" sleeve kits out there. at least the parts are all metal.
we discussed this before there is a lot of springrate and your going to be a bit under damped, but for the money it'll function. I doubt, however, you'll be happy..
According to this your going to be running 446 and 335 lb/in spring rates. that's a lot, and you will experience some "Ghetto Bounce"-TM as you sprint springs are most likely only 20-25% stiffer then stock to make up for the reduced ride height
Right off sprint's website: Sprint Performance Suspension
"Sprint Rate: Spring rate or spring stiffness influence the handling characteristics of the vehicles chassis. Sprint springs are designed for the best ride quality for its ride height. Sprint Springs are normally 20-25% stiffer than factory stock springs.
Many people seem to believe that the stiffer the spring the better. Which is NOT CORRECT! The stiffer the spring the harder the rebound is on The shock. Conventional factory or aftermarket factory replacement shocks are not designed to handle the rebound of a stiff spring. The center cartridge of the shock snaps back, that causes the vehicle to hop, creates a harsh ride, and predictable road traction is lost."
borrowered from clubsi.com
Stock civic springs are anywhere from 165lb front and 80lb rear for a regular civic and 200lb front and 100lb Rear for an SI
so one can imagine Sprint is basing the 20% off the stiffer of the two so your currently running 240lb front and 120lb rear. so you are in effect going to double your spring rate over sprint without changing damping.
It does not take a Mechanical Engineer to tell you your gonna get a bit of the old G.B. this can be solved later with better dampers, but since the parts are less then the labor I would get some good dampers NOW so your not paying twice for the labor.
I can't imagine you were able to score a PRO-S or PRO-C coilover kit for $60 if you did WAY TO GO! the Pro-s and Pro-C from Skunk-2 look like nice equipment.

also if you intend to go much lower then you are now your going to have to modify the bumpstops while the stiff spring will help you from hitting them, you are taking quite a bit of travel from your suspension.
if your talking about these
Skunk2 Pro-C Coilovers "Test Drive: Try and Ride"
then they are a STEAL at $60
