DIY Four Wheel Alignment
Was curious to know if any here do their own wheel alignments?
What techniques do you employ?
Is caster/kpi, thrust angle, bump steer.......... etc, ------ calculations part of your solution?
Thats a New Concept

Nice Find!!!
Alot of the current alignment gear is dated........... It's been used for so long that the "art", has become stagnant.
Are the use of bubble's and fractional measurements adequate for your needs.
Simple Example/Question (their are many):
When measuring caster; do you need turnplates/slip-plates?
The answer of many -- is yes, but this requires a 20 degree turn sweep -- and many chassis' wedge as a result of the sweep. This is the primary reason for the plates -- to eliminate any bind.
Some chassis' will not turn to that degree -- and as most bubble gauges are calibrated to the 20 degree sweep, an error will result in the caster calculation. Would any here desire to only turn the wheels let's say 2 degrees to get a resultant?
Is this even a concern to those of you doing alignments, (I will note that asymetric casters will unbalance a chassis)?
I have noticed that some of the top D1 cars run very little caster, very little SAI/KPI, with a small amounts of neg. static camber. The steering must be very light (but sensitive), concerning feedback to the driver, making set-ups procedure that much more delicate.

I do alignments for myself as well as for customers.
I use the alignment setup like they use on Race cars at Indy.
Bump steer is a concept that the critics would benefit from
by purchasing your software.-Bob
