Question big brother......what are my rights?

ive been working at my current job for almost 2 years now......my mom has been working there about 18 years......its a really laid back workplace where we can make our own hours and come and go as we please (as long as the work is done) .....my boss never yells and barely has to tell anyone theyre doing somthing wrong because people respect thier freedom.......well recently we had some guy in our lab making some measurements and whatnot.....and then the next couple of days we come to work and theyre installing little camera bubbles in the ceiling......my bosses son sits right next to me and we bullshit all the time (i have a good relationship w/ my bosses family, we go fishing and i go to thier christmas parties while other employees do not) .....but i asked him what was up w/ the camera (not trying to be too nosey) and he said they were installing them to reduce the insurance on the building.....so i thought cool

but then i heard that they were having them broadcasted to thier house (where the wife stays at home and monitors the lab) .....but i dont get why they couldnt just have the camera taped instead of broadcasted it would be the same thing.....i am wondering why they would want to watch us since we dont do anything wrong (well atleast i dont) and this is just confusing to me.

what i thought was weird was, no one informed us of the cameras being installed, there was no formal informing of them being there.....it was all just acquired by the gossip around the lab.....our boss hasnt addressed us about them or why theyre there. and i think thats odd......i just wanted your guys' opinion on this
thanks

I wonder how those cameras could possibly lower insurance rates. Maybe it has something to do with suspected employee theft?

i myself dont have anything to worry about, because like i said i am friends with the family and go fishing on thier boat all the time and go to my bosses sons house and hang out.....but i just thought the cameras were kindof an insult, like having them think that others might be doin somthing wrong.....i dunno

All this means is that you can't pick your nose, scratch your nuts, or lift a cheek and fart when you think nobody is watching. Other than that you're in the clear.
