Default Need car advice

As many of you probably know, I am fed up with my Focus's lack of reliability. I test drove Craig's CRX today, and I was pretty impressed by that little car (even with the lack of torque ).

Would you say this could be a sound investment? From an insurance stand point, this car would decrease my monthly bill by $44. From a reliability stand point, what do you hard core Honda guys think? It is a 1990 CRX Si with a B16A1 swap (very clean swap), stock motor, new tranny/clutch, blah blah blah. Are general repairs for the CRX/B16 generally cheap/easy? I would need to source a stock Si driver side seat to replace the Corbeau and a stock seatbelt assembly for the driver side as well....are these difficult to find? This would be my first Honda...something I know shit about. Thanks for the info.

You know...people really suck in Tampa. I saw a PT Cruiser in my apt complex parking lot sitting on blocks with the wheels gone. Makes me seriously think twice about owning a Honda product with lots of aftermarket stuff that is entirely too easy to break into. I am super paranoid about my car being broken into after the last Lemon Drop break-in right in front of my house.

So lately I've been looking around for late model Honda products, Si's and TypeR's in particular since those seem to be less of a target as compared to the older Hondas. I check out Progressive to find out that these cars add about $50-70 EACH MONTH!

Ugh, as much as I absolutely dislike repairing this Focus...it looks like I am stuck with it until summer when my policy is reduced and have access to a garage to store my car. I'm pretty sure I will still be looking at Honda for my next car...possibly the new S2000 coupe or Civic TypeR (or SiR?) when/if they are out by then and are not insanely priced.

with the exception of when i messed with it, my LS never had a single problem.
and even with all the mods that were done to it, it was still perfectly reliable.

Get the honda, the amount you'll be saving from payments and insurance will easily offset the cost of any possibly repairs.
