I have got to Fuckin VENT!!!
Since this is a Semi-private forum, I'll Vent here.... if you wish, you can just skip this thread....I had to type it, because if I don't, I'm gonna blow up in some of these posts

Where in the hell do these little 16 year old pricks get off thinking they "know Hondas"? Did they wake up with a gift of intelligence that I am lacking? All these "newbies" (Newbies defined as anybody that has entered the Import scene in the past 3-4 years.) thinking that they are the "Shit". Well guess what, YOUR NOT! Your nothing but an uneducated fuckin little POSER. You only like things becuase you "Think" somebody else will think you are cool. Do you even know what makes a car "Cool"? or do you think becuase it's "JDM" that it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Case in point: Spoon/Rota/Rega Rims (in black). Positive: they are light. Negatives: They are as ugly as steaming dog shit on a cold morning, and remind me of a set of 1990 American Racing 5 stars, with the center cap removed, and painted flat black. They don't even have a "Style". They were meant to be functional, not "Showy".
And the good ole "Buddy" thing. you know....the "well I have this Buddy who (Fill in the blank with some god aweful, truly unbelievable feat)"
And these kids are so immature, that I'm almost embarassed to own a Honda. I can't go to Ronnie Setsers anymore, and I've been going to his shows since "Local Trends" (threw that in for you old farts
). Now, not am I not only not welcome (triple negative for you english majors), I am actually asked to leave. HUH? So I talked to ronnie about it, and he said, "well, since I know you, you can stay, just let me know, and I'll tell everybody that your allowed". Great, now I need permission. Maybe I should sell my car and buy something that isn't construed as a "troublemaker" car. Isn't america grand? I don't have the freedom to look at wonderful american steel BECAUSE I choose not to own one. Great.
All in all, I'm tired of this Rice and JDM shit. Fact is, the line has gotten so blurry, that instead of a "Rice Citation", I wanna see a "JDM Citation". People will literally put it on there car becuase it says JDM. No taste, and NO INDIVIDUALITY.
So in all this retrospect, I digress back into my garage, where my Del Sol sits on Jackstands, partially dismantled. As I rebuild her, I will ignore the pompus idiots in the import world, and continue to do what I enjoy, BEING DIFFERENT.
Criteria for "Being Different":
Build a car that reflects my tastes. Both Classy, but Racy. Tap into the minor faceds of a car that makes you say "That car looks awesome", while not understanding why. I have found that a mildly modified car can still look awesome. I realized this the first time I took the Del Sol out on the streets. At a Friday night car show, people stopped and commented that the car looked nice, but when I questioned them why, they weren't sure. When I pointed out the Civic front clip, they just about fell over. Even another Del Sol owner didn't even notice. That is what I am after. I will build a car that will handle competitively in Solo2, but still look good on a saturday night.
Don't do it to be cool, do it because you want to.
Note to self: Pride is being able to say "I did it myself"
Sorry to vent, and this wasn't directed towards anyone in particular. No Flaming please....just frustrated, I've been through alot this year (Between my Civic getting stolen and the body shop fucking up my Sol).

I understand you, Charles. I just do my own thing. Blue is my favorite color...I love blue. So I put in a blue bulb on the focus dome light. I don't car who says it's rice. It's a much softer light than the bright ass regular bulb, and it's a nice shade of blue and I like it. Anyone who doesn't can fuck off. We all knew when the movie came out, the shit would hit the fan. Well, it did....and it's only going to get worse as time goes on and a sequal is released. Such is life. Oh well, see you at the next autocross
