Jesus christ it isnt a 76 Pinto. They arent that bad. When you take a 10 year old car add 150HP and go from a 15.4 1/4 mile to low 13s etc....SHIT HAPPENS! Sorry if Hondas dont have problems when going from 15s to 14s (WHOOPTY FUCKING DO!!!).... Any car has problems when close to doubling the factory horsepower on the factory BLOCK AND DRIVETRAIN. Not one problem on my car was of natural cause. It was all part of the modding process. Esp the driveline. I welded a differential. Things are bound to be different. I had a coolant problem. It was MY doing in bypassing the water cooling lines for the turbo charger.

People who buy them and dont do shit right give them a BAD NAME. Its just easier to blow up a boosted car. Be careful and it will be dead reliable. I drive mine everyday.

Sorry for the rant....I know some of you are kidding to an extent but it really pisses me off that some people actually think the cars are pieces of shit and we all need our heads examined.

Aaron you damn well i have repsct for your car and other dsms. i have begun my reasearch and will soon have one to work on. that will be my daily driver while i get my acura done and when that is done then it will be the dsms turn. parts breaking and shit going wrong is part of the fun of owning a modded car. when you dont do shit right and it fucks up you have no one to blame but yourself not the car...its as simple as that.

Aaron is right. DSMs are not really the problem. Its 10 year old cars that are turbod. Most DSMs that blow up are because people want to crank the boost to the sky. Its easy to do. Pull the vacuum line off the wastegate. I have heard not only of people doing this but people have told me to do it! Empty headed morons.

I have been driving my car daily for over 2 years. It has HUNDREDS of drag passes on it.

Issues?

water neck leaked about 2 weeks after I bought it.

I shifted it from the top of 3rd to 2nd... flywheel loosened. Motor still running after Not only one but TWO trips to 9000 rpm.

Broke driveshaft launching like a mad man on the track... I have launched that was 300 other times with no problems.

So I broke it twice and it had a leak once that was fixed in 10 minutes for a dollar.

What Im tryin to say is.. BUY ONE Denise because I know your not an empty headed moron.

The only DSMs that have problems seem to be 2Gs. Breaking rods and crank walk. Get a 1G obviously.

James had an easy 400(at least 50 of them 12s) passes on his car when it broke. He AutoXd it every weekend for a year BEFORE dragracing it. It didnt really break...the clutch let loost due to a faulty ACT disc. We dont use those anymore. I have seriously never seen a DSM break beacuse of something OTHER than user error.

Me....too lean. Not much experience/knowledge tunning.

Joe...launching like he wanted to goto the moon. He still drove it home with the driveshaft in back seat.

James....ACT clutch disc POS. Went to the infamous race rebuild...never to run again grave.

FWDs...axles and diffs....bleh WWD.

Period. Thats it.

Of course not. I plan on having a Honda as my daily driver. I know the faster it gets the less reliable it will be AT THE TRACK....not on the street at street boost but you know Ill be racing it sooo....I gotta get a reliable car. A race car of any sort as your only car is stupid IMHO.

Thank you Denise. I appreciate that.

I also have a reliable daily driver as of recently. I think it will give the HF a run...
