I am currently loving my truck right now.
I think everyone should have an old truck.
However I would recommend buying one in better shape than mine.
And you should probably put some sort of exhaust on it open headers are kinda LOUD and they heat the floarboards really well.

Never a problem on the reliability front though. Had between 290000 - 300000 miles on original motor tranny etc. Never changed anything but oil tires brakes battery alternator once and clutch around 215000
