So tonight was officially my first day with my new local driving gig. Home every day, Friday and Saturday off. To say I am happy with this new job and company is an understatement. Substantial pay raise, better benefits, brand new truck and a cake walk of a job with requires no interaction with other people. I <3 my job.

I work evenings, so I can watch most games.

 

I drive for Transport America....but I am on a dedicated account for Porter Paints off of 301, just south of MLK. Basically I deliver paint to the stores at night around the Bay area, Central and South FL. Best part about my job is I have no human interaction. I have keys and alarm codes to all the stores, let myself in, drop the stuff off with an electric pallet jack and lock everything up. Of course the money is nice too.

 

The local driving market in Florida pays a lot better than most states out there. Its all about finding the right company and getting experience under your belt. Tankers also pay very well here in Florida.
