Default New addition to the stable......

Well, I have a new addition

17'7" West Boats center console with a suzuki 140

It included an old GPS/Loran, a depth/fishfinder, compass, radio in side console, new shakespeare VHF antennae, outriggers (cool!) and has a dual battery switch.

pics - now keep in mind it has been sitting for most of the last year and was full of leaves / dirt / ants (and a few roaches) when I picked it up. I have a bucket of cleaners at home (sno-bowl, 3m fiberglass cleaner, vinyl cleaner, etc...) and hopefully I will get to work on it Sunday if I can find a place with a hose nearby (apartments suck! can't wait to get in my house in a few weeks!).

all for $1500!!!!!!! WOOT!

oh yeah, and I am closing on my house on the 19th

looks great, just needs some cleaning.

def give that lower unit some attention, that and the wheel bearings are the biggest deals with boats. 140 should pack plenty of punch in that beast.

Yeah, lower unit oil will be changed this weekend. Then I can clean it off and see if it's leaking and where from. Wheel bearings are also going to be greased / replaced if necessary. Tilt/trim fluid filled, plugs changed, oil change, and a major cleaning (sno-bowl, 3m fiberglass cleaner, vinyl cleaner all at the ready).

Anyone seen Steve around (Dragin)? I may have to give him a run on the lake when it's done, lol!

Will do Scott!

Step 1 is complete =)

Busted my tail off tonight cleaning the deck off with Sea Star Hull cleaner. I started with the sno-bowl (reccommended to me by someone at a local shop) but didn't like that it seemed to be leaving a blue film behind. I probably just wasn't rinsing it well enough.

Anyway - nice progress so far!
