Man, I am loving driving the Renegade. The thing is so freakin' huge, and it has a gigantic air horn. It's absolutely destroyingly fun driving in traffic and taking over lanes from the rest of the world!


I've found its very dificult to make certain turns because of how wide I have to swing it so i don't get the inside wheels up on a curb or something like that.

Are there any secrets or any techniques I could practice to get better? Maybe when you guys are in town would you mind showing me the ropes of this bastard?

we've already got cruising on the highway down to a science, however sometimes in town it can get a little bit pain in the ass, especially with the 40' trailer hooked up.

its a 2001 freightliner FL112 with the caterpillar C12 engine. the thing is beastly!

 

Matt + Kyle alone in the renegade a week ago on 408 in Orlando in traffic about to go through a toll all the way on the LEFT hand side and then have to get off the highway a half mile away (having to cross like 4 lanes of traffic):

you should race walter's rig, w/o trailers hooked up.

 

Always pay attention to your mirrors when making turns. Watch how the trailer off tracks....remember, you're driving the trailer around turns, not the tractor. In small city traffic, it maybe neccesary to button hook(swing wide) before making turns. You shouldn't be running over curbs with that pussy ass 40 footer anyways. It all comes with experience.....

I dont ever go over curbs with it. But it seems like i can see a situation where there might be a very narrow right turn or left turn that might hurt me.

BUT THE STEERING ANGLE ON THIS THING IS INSANE!!

if only i could drift the freightliner . oh wait, i already did.. hahaha

but seriously.. turning it around is soo wierd.. cause the rear wheels are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back there and the front tires are WAAAAAAAAAAY upt here.. its cool. as shit.

honestly , i was in 9th gear, going down the road in the rain, without the trailer hooked up

i stepped on it a little bit too hard i guess, and she stepped out to the side about two feet.
