So ends my vacation...
First day of work is tomorrow at 8:30am. Will be nice getting back to work and earning a paycheck. It will also be odd having structured hours on a daily basis AND having overtime paid AND having more than 10-days vacation/personal time AND a paid lunch hour AND no weekends AND no 12-hour days AND....
I can tell this will be an entirely different work experience than what I am use to. Hopefully it will lead me down a successful career path...this is the only thing worrying me about the career change.
Anywho, just wanted to say "hi" to the fellow slaves of The Man. Crossing my fingers for a cubicle and a red swingline.

LMAO. One of the managers at work talks and looks JUST LIKE the manager of Flingers (I think that was Mike Judge) from Office Space.
I'm going to get an oldschool red Swingline stapler just for shits and giggles.
This job is everything that I envisioned of a large corporate-type working environment. Which is pretty much a HUGE shock coming from my 2-years with a small company of 5 full-time employees where I had my own personal office...not a shared cubicle with three other team members.
But the people in my team are great. Bosses are great. I have no idea what to do with myself for one full hour during my lunch break. Seems like this job will be interesting and perhaps even fun.

Congrats dude.
I dont think your HR lady liked my resume or anything, because I sent it to her a week ago, and still haven't heard anything back.

You may want to try calling her though. I found the best way to get a return call is to give the HR person a ring a few days after I send out a resume.

Congrats and welcome to the world of Office Space.
Today we all got crowded into my bosses office and had to sing happy b-day to one of my coworkers. There was an interview in the office next to us so we had to keep it down. Sounded just like when they sang happy b-day to Lumberg in Office Space. I couldn't stop smiling while we sang.
