From what I know of Vince....Vince is serious.....at least for now. He is not modding the 408 any further.
Its all a philisophical choice on how you approach a car and what you want to do with it. Vinces car is badass...it hauls ass...and its all motor. In its current condition and with regular maintanance and oil changes...it should go 75,000+ miles as is with maybe a valve spring change somewhere in there. Thats many years of weekend fun.

On the other hand...if he begins spraying a 200 or a 300 shot every weekend....he will be lucky to get 15,000 from the bearings.

When you start approaching these huge HP #s (700, 800, 900)...you have to start thinking about down time..and treat bottom ends as wear items. Kinda like brakes and clutches.

Im hoping to get 10,000 miles from my bottom end That would be about a year and a half the way I drive it.

Then it turbo time.

Vince...I think your making the right choice. That car is a thing of beauty that just needs to be driven.

Thanks for backing me up Al. Do you think a 150 dry shot would cool down the engine? Oil temps are in the 230 range.. Just kidding.. I just want things to last. I dont want to change motors like I do my oil.

No problem Vince and I know exactly where you are coming from.
I do think though that you could still get 75k miles with a little bitty 100-125 dry shot.

Who knows what the future holds and how you will feel 10-12 months from now after you have put some miles on her.
