Job choices 101.

Job choices 101.
Here is my situation:
Job 1 is the one I currently have. I am relatively miserable here. Not only do I work for 3 different governing bodies with 3 different sets of standards, but I am the lead of a 6 person team including myself that is responsable for 1 major client (for now) named Qwest. It is my orgizational responsability to make sure these folks get taken care of or we might lose the client. Net income to the company due our team's harmony: alot. Net income to us 6: jack shit. Anything I do is unappreciated and overlooked. My other responsabilities (which are secondary and to Sprint) are highly scrutinized by 3 fuckers that are not even on the same team I belong to. One of which is of the same level I am at and insists on being up my ass while talking shit about me behind my back to my 5 other co-workers on my team. I insisted back that he meet me in the parking garage for a little conference.
In comes Job offer 2. The company is extremely stable and one of the top 3 financial firms on the planet. I would have to get back on the phones for tech support and learn the ass kissing higharchy again, which sucks. Then again, the pay is better, I get full benifits and tuition reimbursement so I can finally get back to school where I belong since my Florida Pre-Paid was cashed in by my "father."
My delimma:
1. Should I leave the familiar (be it good and bad) and go?
2. I have little to no time off to interview with this job for a possible posision (which I am not guarenteed), should I risk the consequences for taking time off of my current job?
3. If/when I do get this new job, how should I quit? Burn the bridge in a blaze of glory or tell them I am quitting only to get fired apon telling them that? They've fired perfectly good people who got their dream job offers right after they gave them the curtasy 2 weeks notice.
I know it is a long read, but my general feelings are that even if I start over, I will be with a company where I can do anything I want. Even if I don't get the job (I have interviewed there before for a different posision that was surrendered to an internal lateral move), it will be nice to know that my skillz have a place outside of what I am doing now.

Since the current job is only temporary, you should look towards something more permanent. Job 2 sounds like a better choice even if your current job weren't temporary. I'd jump on it while the iron is still hot.

Give 2 weeks at 1.
That's the order I'd do it....
