Samurai blue owns, hands down. But to each her own.

 

Every time I've been there, I'm extremely disappointed, especially for the overinflated prices. Maybe I'm just not ordering good ones or something.

 

What do you order? My favs are:

Tuna Tataki Appetizer (with killer sauce and shredded radish & carrot)
Volcano Roll (with awesome ponzu sauce topped with steamed conch)
Tuna Summer of Love Roll (spicy, rolled in white rice paper)
Tempura Japanese Bagel (same ponzu sauce, deep fried and sliced, excellent)
Spicy Tuna Hand Rolls (stuffed with tuna and spicy mayo, fun to eat)
Tokyo Roll (has little small tempura chips in the roll for a nice crunch)

Those are my favs. If you haven't had the Tuna Tataki Appetizer, you are totally missing out... If you can't tell, I go there once in a while!

No, Kaisen is my favorite Sushi restaurant. What I let you try was natto...the picture above. Looks nasty but it's good stuff once you get passed the fact that it looks like snot. :o

in short I USED to go there about once a week with my g/f....each time it was progressively slower...and each time it was slower there were MORE chefs...

well this last time we ordered Age Tofu and Tuna Tatanka we rcvd our tofu in about 10 minutes...ok. 45 min later no tuna...I grab one of the waiters and remind them of out "appetizer" she says "ok I will check"...NEVER goes to the back and just goes back up front as if i was never there.

I told out waiter I was getting VERY or was it extremely..hmm..I dunno but going on I told her i was getting frustrated and she was like "it be wite out I sawwy" so i was like ok...meanwhile my g/f and her friend and myself were quite agitated.

10 minutes later she comes back with the WRONG appetizer after i had reminded her about 5 times what it was.

I get up walk to the back to the "head" person or whatever and tell them to cancel my order I am leaving. I payed for what we ate/drank. We went to peabodies and had corn dog nuggets and grilled cheese samiches in less than 10 minutes.

NO appologies from them till she realized I wasn't joking and really left. Then the cunt stain that didn't even help out came running outside to apologize.

truthfully I have had better sushi but it was close and convenient so i went there often. Kaisen will always be a winner in my book just out of the way. I am gonna try the other sushi bar by the Beef's and remingtons kinda on the corner of BBD and Bearss next time. Hopefully they are ok.
