I don't know if it matters from a "credit standpoint" whether it was paid off on time or paid off early. All I know is that it your credit is usually good as long as you don't miss any payments etc...
Why would you sell the car? I thought you liked it. Do you want something different now? How much do you think you can get for it?

i dunno, i wont sell my car. im just being dumb. just like the last time i put it on auto trader. every time someone called me i told them no. but, who knows. i dont want anything different. I actually just want a 6speed swap but either way i look at it (buying a newer 6 speed or swaping the tranny and everything) both are a pain in the ass.
oh well

When I payed off my Grand Prix a couple years ago, my payoff was $10,000. 5 months later when I traded it in I only got $5,000 for it. i wish I had just kept making payments instaed. With the way cars depreciate so rapidly and how often we buy new cars, I can't rationalize paying a car off. Just trade it in while you're still on top.
Frances, if your payoff was 10k and 5 months later you only got 5k for the car, then you were upside down on it. If you had traded it in you would have to either payoff the diff. Or finance it. You were better off paying it off.
Yah, I doubt the value fell 5k in 5 months, you must have owed much more than the car was worth(upside down, negative equity) at that time so either way you eat it when you trade it in. If you're like me and put $0 down when you buy a new car you'll be upside down for a year or 2 at least. That's because new cars are about the worst "investment" ever

i am not upside down on my car and i would NEVER trade it in to begin with. i would sell it myself. trading in cars is the worst thing you could possibly do. you loose so much money
