Exclamation PC Help

Had to reformat the hard drive and start back in 1998. So I go to update all my Windows bullshit, and the page says "script error, continue running script? Yes or No". Either answer gives me a blank page. Great...so I can't upgrade shit. Any ideas? I'm running Windows 98 and some old version of IE.

Thanks.

Thanks Zate. That did the trick.

Despite the age of this OS, I still prefer it to anything besides XP. We have a couple ME systems at work...makes this 6-year old PC look like a modern marvel of technology. One of these days I'll stop being so damn cheap and finally buy a new computer. But just out of sheer curiosity I want to see how long this POS will last. I've dropped it about 3-4 feet onto concrete twice and she still runs like a champ.

I fear change. 98 has been good to me for the most part with this particular PC. However I do look forward to finally getting XP with a new PC whenever this old bitch dies.

Well...shit on a stick. I backed up some of my essential files (i.e. my resume) onto a 3.5" floppy prior to formatting the harddrive. Just to be sure, I loaded the files off the disk and they worked perfectly.

So now I go to get my files, and it is asking me if I want to format the disk. WTF, mate? Try to load it through Word, and it tells me nothing is there and that the disk may be unformatted. Again...WTF, mate?

What the fuck? An hour before my 3rd phone interview and all my shit is gone. Motherfucking piece of garbage.

I'm praying to all that is fucking holy there is something wrong with my drive, and that I can open it at work tomorrow on a different PC. The absolute last thing I want to do is start from scratch, again.

Win XP has done alright by me thus far. Granted, it is frustrating since my key has been expired (in other words known as a haX0r key that has been used a bazillion times) and as such I get no updates, but I never get the blue screen of death. If you need a basic PC that blows both your pile of crap and mine out of the water, just get a $499 Dell as advertized. That pile is going to be reliable and tech supported forever.

I wouldn't ordinarily suggest a computer like that, but it fits your needs and will go above and beyond what you expect it to do.
