Rode a steel roller coaster for the first time in my life
After the C-spot Alan, Craig, Scott and myself went to Islands of Adventure. They tried to get me to go on the Hulk, but I wouldn't. I have been deathly afraid of roller coasters my entire life. It took until my late teen years to even ride a wooden one. Well, they finally convinced me to give it a try. I was terrified (I probably turned a little pale...I'm not joking about how scared I am of them) while waiting in line and couldn't believe I was really about to sit down and strap myself in. Well, I did and I had a blast. It was so much fun. I was screaming "I'm Rick James Bitch" the whole time. I enjoyed the ride more being upside down than rightside up. So, I made them ride it again. This time we sat in the front seats and I was at the end. I had even more fun.
Granted, I did barf a couple times after but that's because I've been sick lately. All these years I've missed out on all that fun because I was afraid (and I wish I could show you on a scale just how afraid I mean) of heights and rollercoasters.
We also rode the log ride thingy where we all got soaked and the Jurassic Park water ride too. I guess I warmed up to the coaster on those two and then finally tried the Hulk.
Great fun.

you would ride a wooden coaster but not a steel? i refuse to go on wooden coasters, just don't like watching them flex and slacken the tensioning cables.

I agree with RONIN on this one. Steel Rollercoasters are way smoother than the crickety wooden coasters and feel safer too. Most would agree that wooden coasters are more scary.
The Hulk is a good coaster. I always like to wait the extra 5-10 minutes to get a front seat. Last time I went there I got to ride it late at night in the dark. That was fun. Did you ride the Dueling Dragons? Those are good too.

We convinced Joe that the steel coasters were very smooth and if he could handle a wooden one he was home free.
He did look mighty pale and nervous in line but he manned up and got on. Go look in the picture thread I just posted in here, it has the look on his face as we get ready to climb.
Again, I had a great time.
