Going on a cruise
Yep.. it's vacation time again. We're sailing out of Miami on the Carnival Victory on Sunday, March 7th. We're doing the Eastern Caribbean itinerary this time since we did Western for our honeymoon.
Ports of call:
San Juan
St. Martin/St. Maarten
St. Thomas
Should make for a fun time. Anyone been to these islands or on the Victory? Any advice? Anyone need any cuban's?

Scott is correct. My wife and I got our passports though because its handy to have, lasts for 10 years, and is much more convenient to carry.
I've been to San Juan and ST. Thomas.
In San Juan, I recommend the Bacardi tour (great discounts on bottles and free drinks at the end), and if you have time, the fort. Very awesome.
In St. Thomas, we just went shopping, but have your camera ready when you get off the ship. The "taxi's" over there are unregulated by the Government and we were told that is one of the most lucrative careers on the Island. They are all brand new trucks, pimped out with NICE paint and nice wheels, converted to surry topped taxi's. They really aren't that expensive but the drivers are usually very funny and pretty crazy drivers.

As far as passports go, most places don't require them, but I've heard it makes life a lot easier. Barbados is now starting to require them. On our cruise, we have to clear immigration at St. Thomas (USVI), but then we don't have to clear it again back in Miami, so that's not too bad.
To get on the ship, you have to have an original copy (raised seal, like Alan said) of your birth certificate and photo ID. Also, for the ladies, it's not a bad idea to carry a copy of your marriage license.
Well, I pulled an all nighter, so now it's off to the shower, then down to Miami in about 30 minutes. I'll be back with plenty of pictures, etc. in about a week.
