Default Online Advertising

Hola Perros,

I know probably 90% of you are web gurus or work in an Internet related field, so I feel this question would best be posed here.

Basically I am looking for some suggestions regarding online advertising. We are looking for a cost effective means for building our national online market research database. So far the obvious sites like MSN or Yahoo come to mind. What others should I look into? In your past endeavors, which sites produced the best ROI?

We are a fairly small business with a fairly limited budget, but just like the "big dogs" we are looking to get the most for our money without breaking the bank. Eventually I will head up the "Internet Survey Department" (haha, me being the only computer literate person able to program/launch/administer the surveys), so I really want to get this database going ASAP to pull in more revenue.

Thanks for your help.

Well thats a given. In addition to some sort of online advertising, I'm trying to talk my boss into having a list company send an invite out to a few hundred thousand nation-wide emails. Once we get the ball rolling, the database should build itself (in theory).

Or I could always join a bunch of discussion boards and whore the website.

its remakable affective .. you "buy" keywords.. and your ad appears on the side bar when people search on your key words.. we've used it a couple of times for TR and other projects.
I was looking into that after your initial post. It looks pretty cost effective until you figure the bare bones cost per click probably won't get you much exposure. Out of curiosity (if you are willing to share the info), how much did you spend with Google for TR? How long did you use the service and how many hits did we get?

One that has been capturing my interest is the Microsoft bCentral Traffic Builder. $30/mo lists you on every search site known to man and gives you free banner advertising. Ever hear anything good or bad about their service?

Billy...thanks for the tip off. I'll try looking towards the online agencies. I'm thinking maybe my host could even provide these services.
