Default Fuck, got pulled for my exhaust, got ticket.

Just what I was thinking...I needed to become part of the cool people's club. The cop told me (wonderful HCSO officer Hickory...notorious in the Valrico area) that my exhaust was illegal and I am not allowed to modify/deviate from stock. Then on the ticket, he wrote EXHAUST SYSTEM (NOISE). WTF??? I'm no Brandon ricer with an exhaust that is meant to amplify the exhaust like a megaphone, it is pretty damn quiet and would pass any dB test thrown at it and be within state mandated limits.

I've been pulled over once already in this car and the officer didn't even bat an eye at the exhaust. As a matter of fact, it was just a block up the road from where I got nailed tonight. A half a block from where officer Hickory illegally searched and harassed my co-worker's car. Even better yet, this young punk rookie asshole nearly caused an accident to get to me, passing on a double yellow and cutting off the truck that was behind me while nearly rearending me. Way to go, go do some real police work, asshole.

I always got the thumbs up from cops when I had my Mustang. Whenever my car would be loping at the light, cops would look over and say "Nice car". I actually had a cop tell me to get on it for him.

It is a double standard. Cops always let the loud V8's and Harleys go, but will not hesitate to pull over the import with moderately loud and legal exhaust. I think it is how we perceive higher pitched sounds as being "louder" than a lower pitch.

Craig...can't you fight it? He didn't have anything to measure exactly how loud your car is, so he has nothing to justify his claim.

That sucks man. I'm in Valrico all the time and I've never been messed with by the HCSO down there or anywhere else for that matter because of my exhaust. You know how loud my car is too, not sleeper by any means what so ever. Double standards suck. Sorry about the bad luck.

It's all perception, on that note I NEVER got a ticket in my DSM which was open downpipe, and I used to abuse that thing from every friggin light.
