Default FS: 1967 Chevy G10 rat rod van $4500

1967 Chevy G10 van

Motor:

1964 Corvette 327
Keith black flattop pistons
shotpeened chevy pink rods
random compcams (i have specs somewhere)
Modified iron heads (over sized valves)
1.6 aluminum roller rockers
Summit dual plan intake manifold
holley 600cfm vac secondary
zoom timing chain
professional products harmonic balancer
Summit long tube headers
2.5" flowmasters
summit blueprinted HEI distributor
all new gaskets and seals
new waterpump
fabricated aluminum valve covers
Holley mech fuel pump and rod
Summit 16gal fuel cell with level sender
Summit 5 micron fuel filter
3/8" black Aeroquip fuel line
also have an extra Edelbrock intake manifold

Built 700R4 transmission
B&M Ratchet shifter
GM 12-bolt rear end with 3.31:1 gears
1978 Transan 15x8 honeycomb wheels
stock leaf srping front and rear. flip the springs and drop the van 6"

satin black krylon paintjob
GEM Hotrod LED taillights
bedliner painted cargo area
shaved cargo door handles
new in box RCI lapbelts
Kenwood tape deck with 6 disc changer
two speakers that actually work!

the bad: nothing. its a rat rod. theyre not supposed to be pretty or in great shape. there is rust bc its a 1967 chevy van. the van hole that was on the roof has been patched by an old liscence plate. its got a 3 speed ratchet shifter, so you cant downshift all the way to first... but i have a 4 speed shifter i'll put it in if someone actually buys it. it creaks and pops bc its old, but it hauls ass. the doors also dont have any regulators in them to hold the windows up. one side uses a wooden shim, the other side uses a pole. it works.

i use this thing as my daily driver. it starts everytime, runs great and has been fine. once you get used to the quirks of owning/operating it, its really fun. i get compliments all the time. i just want to sell it bc i have too many toys and am going to use this money to buy something nice for the wife and me to use.

looking for $4500 OBO

*EDIT: pictures are a little old... taillights are replaced (LED's), windows are all stripped of the shitty purple tint and all windows cleaned

Cool looking van, but just because something is flat black doesn't make it a rat rod. A true Rat Rod should be chopped-up, and put back together. Parts from all sorts of other cars, etc. It's definitely a cool van, but not Rat Rod.

thank you for your amazing insight and knowledge. i cant believe ive gone this long under such a cloud of delusional thinking. thank god there are good citizens like you out there.

rat rods get their names from being low-budget rods. the fact that pieces come from other vehicles, etc is incidental. never mind the fact that its built with a corvette motor, camaro transmission, is a retired ambulance, etc. its littered with a little bit of everything making it a rat. US-spec military bags and ammo boxes make up my interior and gloveboxes, random cpu fan covers as adornments etc further emphasize its rat nature.

thanks for looking

thats the plan if i end up keeping it. the 78 transam wheels are a little too low offset to slam it and will contact the wheel wells. i need some standard high offset steelies so i CAN drop the hell out of it without maybe body work.

maybe some red steel wheels with whitewalls will make it more ratrod like for Mattism78's taste. i should get his contact info for future builds, too. he can be my consultant to all things 'rat'
