I am a local shop owner and an ex honda tech. You stated to Jake the Civic you traded him had a 1.6 liter in it. Can you tell me when honda started making d15b7 blocks in a 1.6? I have offered to have my attorney file a claim in his behalf against you for fraudulent representation and sale of a motor vehicle. I don't know you and won't judge you by this event beings you contact me to rectify this matter in an acceptable means and matter of time. All he wants is the motor you stated was in the vehicle. In detail as per the year of the car the oem motor in a 1.6 option would be a d16z6. I state this so we are on the same page as far as what should be in the car. So no, he won't take a d16a6 non v-tec. But also he isn't going to be picky as long as it is something of the same performance, i.e. a d16z6, d16y8. So please contact me to resolve this matter without involving legal action and the court system. Also I have obtained a copy of your craigslist ad for the toyota along with Jakes paperwork for work done and all parts installed, also a carfax report on the civic and the toyota. This can be a very easy fix if you want to comply and provide him with a motor, and we can all forget about this little issue. You can even have the d15 back after the swap. I of course will be doing the swap to verify the integrity of the new motor. Oh and the motor does not to be new, just running with no problems.
