Okay, I'll be officially listing this on MiniMania after the weekend. Here is a breakdown of my listing. I'd love to see this go to someone around here rather than someone I don't know, so somebody step up!
1981 Austin Mini Pickup

This Mini is a fantastic pickup that has already had the majority of the hard work done. It was fully restored 6 years ago and had many performance upgrades done since then. All it really needs now is someone to put their personal touches to it. That would have been me, but a month after I arranged to have this great little pickup shipped to the States, my wife and I found out we were having a baby. Now that the baby is here, I need to find a new home for the pickup with an owner who will appreciate this Mini's true quality. I'm asking $16,500, which I believe is a very fair price compared to what rusty pickups with no upgrades are going for. Below is a listing of what this vehicle has to offer...
Engine
· Rebuilt 1275 A+ overbored to 1330 cc, fully balanced, 10.5:1 compression ratio
· Modified big valve Austin America 12G1316 ‘smog’ head
· Piper 285 rally camshaft
· Piper duplex vernier timing gear
· 4 core radiator
· Rebuilt HIF 44 carburettor on gas flowed MG Metro inlet manifold
· K&N air filter
· Facet fast road fuel pump
· LCB exhaust manifold
· Minex stainless steel medium bore single box exhaust
· Top engine steady
· NGK Iridium spark plugs
· Lumenition blue ignition leads
· Lucas sport coil
· MED modified advance curve electronic ignition distributor
· Mocal 13 row oil cooler with braided hoses
· 22 PSI oil warning switch
· 1.5 ratio full roller rockers
· Fast Parts Rolling Road Graph showing 98 bhp (See below. I've worked out the flat spot and now it pulls evenly all the way through)
Gearbox
· Reconditioned 1275 A+ gearbox with 3.44 final drive ratio, centre oil pickup, quickshift and competition diff pin
· Road/rally clutch plate
Brakes
· 8.4 inch disks and standard spacered drums
· Braided brake and clutch hoses
Wheels/Tyres/Suspension
· Falken 165/60 tyres on 12x5 inch Superlite alloy wheels
· Spax uprated gas shock absorbers
· Hi-los fitted to rear (Hi-los for front are included, but not yet fitted)
Exterior
· Resprayed iin 2000 in Ford Matisse Blue metallic (European paint code XSC2246C)
· Mini Special arches
· Stainless bullet mirror
· Halogen headlamp conversion
· Mk1 Morris Cooper wide slat grille
· Hand made tonneau cover
· Rare tilt frame and cover included
Interior
· Mini Mayfair seats
· Newton Commercial interior including:
Deluxe carpet set
Cooper door cards and dash panel
· Smiths rev counter
· Alloy gear knob
· Mountney leather 3 spoke wheel
· Newton Commercial load bed carpet
Other new parts
· Rear subframe, bumpers, fuel tank, door and window seals, steering rack, front wings, A panels, sills, front floor sections, front and rear valance, grille panel and battery
Additional items included
· A couple bins of spare parts, including Hi-los for the front
· Various receipts and records from this vehicle's restoration process
· A CD-Rom chock-full-of photos (if desired)
What still needs attention
· The windscreen has a slight leak. There is some bubbling in the paint along the seal just below the windscreen. If I were keeping it, I would strip this part down, fix the little bit of rust, repaint, and reseal it.
· There is a hot spot in the paint on the left fender. This will be repaired before sale.
· The exhaust has a leak at one of the fittings. This will be repaired before sale.
From what I can tell in the time I have had the vehicle, this is all that needs attention! The rest of the vehicle is solid with no other signs of rust. The engine runs very well and pulls evenly and strongly from 1500 rpms all the way up. It has a power-to-weight ratio equal to that of a new MINI Cooper S. All in all, I've been very pleased with the work the previous owners put into this beauty. I shopped for over a year to find a pickup of this quality. It seems the majority of the pickups I found for sale were less-than-healthy ones full of rust or other issues, and I made sure I wasn't getting one of those. I had the previous owner send me tons of photos of every inch of the vehicle, had RAC do a complete diagnostic on it, and even spoke with the shop that the owner used for work and maintenance. The previous owner and I corresponded for months, and he sent me receipts showing more than £ 6000 in upgrades, along with service records, etc. I was very confident when I made the purchase and found no surprises, and the new owner should be just as confident. I'll happily pass all this documentation on to the new owner. I'm sad to see it go, but know it will go to an owner that will have the time to really appreciate it the way I intended to. And in a few years, if you decide to move on to something else, maybe I can buy it back from you

Again I've worked out that flat spot and it pulls strong all the way up now.
