FS: 1992 Eagle Talon Turbo AWD - Modded
I am getting out of DSM's for the time being. I have too many other projects going on right now. I really don't want to sell it due to all the time and money I have already put in to it, but I think its time. I have barely driven it since I drove it into my garage when I bought my new house last October. I hate to see this car just sit there.
The car is a 1992 Talon AWD with a 4 Bolt rear end with the factory rear LSD. The body has 113k on it, and it is great shape.
The list of mods are as follows:
Freshly built 6 bolt block with less than 8000 miles on it
-Mitsu 4 layer metal head gasket
-2g pistons, 0.020 overbore
-1g Big rods
-ARP Head Studs
-APR Mains
-ARP Rod bolts
-Balance shafts removed
-Running Mobil1 Synthetic since it had about 5000 miles on it. Always had Mobil1 filters.
Stock head, with new valve seals and guides also with less than 8000 miles
Webcam street grinds
AEM adjustable cam gears
Timing belt also less than 8000 miles
Magnecore Plug wires
RC 850cc injectors - freshly cleaned and bench tested from Crusin
Performance - I still have the results sheet - less than 200 miles since
they were cleaned - actually tested at 870cc
Aeromotive AFPR
Aeromotive fuel filter
Braided SS fuel lines from the fuel pump to the fuel rail, and returning
from the fuel rail to the stock hardlines
255 LPH walbro fuel pump
MAFT version 2.02
New 3" GM MAF - less than 200 miles, bought direct from GM
Huge K&N air filter - the biggest one I could fit in there
Fluidyne radiator w/ slim fan
Greddy Type S BOV
Buschur "Race" Big ass FMIC - core is 28.5" x 3.5" x 10" - with end tanks it
is 33.5" wide overall
Dejon UICP for the GM MAS
TurboXS HP MBC
2g Exhaust Mani, ported and tapped for EGT
2g ported o2 housing
Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge
Autometer Boost Gauge
Autometer EGT
DSMlink
GM 3bar MAP
ACT 2600 Plate and Street Disc
ACT Streetlight Flywheel -less than 200 miles
BG Synchroshift II in tranny
Redline Shockproof in Transfer Case and Rear Diff
Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's - 245/45/ZR16's. The rears only have about 500
miles on them, the fronts about 8000
Front and rear strut tower bars
SS Braided brake lines (not installed but are included)
Mitsu dual piston front brake calipers (not installed but are included)
Has a 14b on it now - with a 34mm flapper door and ported exhaust mani from my old big 16g - I was waiting to buy an FP Red or similar size and put this in there for the time being, and just never got around to upgrading the turbo.
Has a custom full 3" exhaust that has no resonators, no muffler, just wide open pipes. I was made it from Brian/Tex at Forced Performace.
Car is white and exterior is in really good shape for a 14 yr old car. Interior is in good shape also except for the drivers seat.
AC has been completely removed except for the under-dash stuff. I still have all the parts though, and they will be included.
All the sound dampening material has been removed from the floorpans.
Cruise control has also been removed.
The clutch pedal assembly has been removed, welded, and put back in to prevent the typical 1g wear that adds the excessive clutch pedal motion.
The only negatives are it has a slight oil leak in the turbo oil return tube where it mounts to the pan. I never fixed this because, as stated above, I figured it would all be coming off for a new turbo. And it occasionally stalls when cruising to a stop in neutral. I assume this is due to a combination of the lightened flywheel and the GM MAF sensor. I just haven't done much to try to toubleshoot it. I think some tuning would fix it but I just havent had the time to drive it around and test it. And the tranny grinds occasionally going in to second. It is a stock tranny and if you really start racing it, it will probably need a rebuild anyway. It shifts good most of the time.
I also have the Stock 1g MAF, unhacked, with another k&N filter. This is very nice to have for trying to calibrate/dial in the MAFT settings and will be included.
I do not want to part it out, but in adding up just the "used" prices for the just aftermarket parts alone I calculate to around $6000. And they are all installed in a good, running car. But I really don't want to deal with parting this out right now.
I am asking $5500 for the car as a whole, and I will also include any extra stock parts I have lying around. I am somewhat firm on this price and if I can't get that or something very close, I will likely part it out.

Entertaining any offers now.
The clock is also ticking on parting it out. If you have any interest in any specific aftermarket parts, let me know. If there is enough interest I might be encouraged to part it out sooner. I would just have for a car with a body in this good of shape to be parted out.

In preparation for a part-out, I drove it around today to warm it up for a compression test. The results were >170 psi on all 4 cylinders. I took a short mpeg of each cylinder test as proof for anyone interested in the longblock. I can send these to anyone who wants to see while I try to find a hosting site (any suggestions?).
But seeing how strong the motor is, it really makes me NOT want to part it out.
My new price is $4000 firm. If there is no interest by July 22nd, the part out will begin.

I have a non-eprom that was originally in this car. I havent used it in about 2 years though, so I dont know its condition.
If you are close and want to try it first before you buy it, let me know. I dont want to sell it unless I know it works anyway. I live near downtown st pete.
