WTT: GMC Typhoon AWD 4.3 Turbo SUV
WTT: GMC Typhoon AWD 4.3 Turbo SUV
1993 GMC Typhoon #1985 of #2200 4.3 v6 turbo AWD, super rare and the quickest SUV ever made
Bought the truck august 04 from a memeber of GAST (georgia SYTY club)
where it had been givin a new breath of life after many years of 'elderly abuse'... it was a MIN truck driven by a some 70 year old man for the first 7-8 years of it's life and it shows in the sheet metal. There's rust (cut out now) above the rear hatch, and about 2-3" on each floorboard, (drove it as a DD for a year so it's not a huge deal) The frame on the other hand is rock solid and still has the black coating intact. I have a set of brand new front fenders still in the packaging (first thing that was supposed to get addressed ) ready to bolt on and either long term metal work or short term bondo would have this truck back in working order. Have all the paper work and a clean title in hand.
The story.
i managed to get fucked by a 'friend' who has a body shop and got about 1/3 of the body work done on my Typhoon that was supposed to be done.
It was gonig to have the front fenders swapped and a new coat of paint put on, but he took it upon himself to start 'cleaning up' the rust it has over the back window and alast 2 months later it was near the same condition it was after the first week excuses a plenty i told him to get fucked and took my truck back. I haven't been able to fnid a job without transport so It doesn't look like i'll be able to get the $1000-2000 this needs in metal work and as i've been stuck driving my sisters POS neon the last few weeks and as it just broke down AGIAN i'm now without a DD so i need something quick.
Cladding is 100% complete
Interior 95% complete
Motor/driveline 100% complete
The truck does run and drive STRONG (had to drive it home from the shop 15 miles fender less) doesn't have any mechanical problems whatso ever, has been kept stocked with Mobil 1 Syn and 93 octane
Current mod list
Billet AFPR
Walboro 255 and Racetronix hotwire
Gilbert super HD front drive-shaft
Johnson IC pump
Custom HTP Chip
External Tranny Cooler
GM Deep Tranny Pan
Flexlite twin Electric Fan
Rerouted IC lines
Catco Converter with muffler deleted
160dF Thermostat
EGR Blockoff
Autometer gauges: (pillar)
boost
trans temp
ATR Cold Air kit
K&N 9x5 Cone
Relocated Batt.
viper 790vx alarm
have a copy of Datamaster and an OC-II cord to go with aswell
I live west of gainesville and you would need a truck and trailer to come pick it up
as far as trades
a nice DD in complete ready to go condition
turbo coupe prefered
AWD or RWD prefered
under 100k miles or a fresh motor/tranny
considering s13s with sr20 swaps, but only if they're super clean
I REALLY DON'T WANT SOMETHING I HAVE TO WORK ON
but don't hesitate to ask if it's something unique
i want to see everything
pics!

thanks for the bump
and i do love owning this truck, getting rid of it is going to be hard....
but i'd rather see it go to a good home as it's not in the NEAR foreseeable future i'll have the funds to do a proper resto

i'm not really a huge fan of the fox style stangs
but that one looks pretty decent actually
what's it got under the hood?
and what's the story with the GN?
