1992 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo 6bolt/4bolt: $1500 obo
I'm posting this for a woman I know from my job. She has had a bad year:
A tree fell on her house and forced her into an apartment. Her son - who was living with her and paying half of the bills - got married unexpectedly and moved out, leaving her with the lease. She is out of work and needs money to pay her bills.
With that out of the way, here is a description of the car:
1992 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo.
118,686 miles.
5-speed
The date manufactured is December 1991, and I believe that makes it a 6 bolt/4 bolt (although, it's been years since I gave a sh*t, so I might be wrong - I think I'm correct.).
It has a custom paint job that includes chameleon and glossy white paint. I'm not going to attempt to describe the paint any further, as the pictures show it clearly.
The car was purchased from a coworker four years ago (bought by her neighbor). The car was running poorly when the new owner got his hands on it (because of a bad timing job by the previous owner's mechanic), and the new owner did not drive the car often as a result. Apparently, he replaced the timing belt 1 1/2 years ago and, after doing so, discovered that the base timing was the source of the aforementioned poor running. With the car running well, he decided to sell it, and it was purchased by the current owner. She purchased the car for her son, but since he left her with the lease, she has decided to sell it.
The issue with this car (and the reason I'm not the current owner) is that it will not turn over. The starter is not receiving voltage (from the switch wire) and thus it will not start. The car has a Viper alarm installed and she doesn't have the remote. This is what she believes is the source of the problem. I looked at the car today and removed the four fuses for the alarm, as well as the harness, and the car did not start. I'm not sure if the alarm is the problem or not since Michael at Car Tunes in Clearwater told me that if the alarm light is not flashing then it is not activated and thus not the problem. I believe he may be wrong. In any event, there is no switch power to the starter. You run a switch wire to the starter, but if the kill switch in the iginition is deactivated (because of the alarm) you would have to wire in a kill switch as well. This is all postulation, and you could just remove the alarm entirely or discover the source of the power issue to be something else - IDK (again, this is why I don't own the car).
The interior is complete and in good shape, except for the dash (peeling) and the carpet which has water on/in it (the sunroof leaked). The sunroof gaskets appear to be perfect, but it doesn't seem to "lock" when you close it; in other words, there is no pressure on the gasket when the glass presses against it (because it doesn't come down and "lock"). The handle for the sunroof is loose on the glass (two screws), so that could be all/part of the problem.
There is no body damage except for one small ding (the size of a quarter). The paint has chipped in a few spots (presumably from the driver clipping something), but hasn't faded.
I guarantee this car has never been modified. People say that all the time, yet it is clear in many cases that the car has just been brought back to stock. However, the history of this car (prior owners) tells the story clearly. They have no interest in making more power.
The car is located in Largo (five minutes from my apartment), so if you send me a PM I'll send contact information and arrange for you to meet up with her. Her phone has been turned off because she couldn't pay the bill, so anyone interested has to PM/email/post in this thread contact info so I can let her know.
She's asking $1500 obo, and she would probably sell it immediately if someone brought her $1000 cash.

Just some FYI for whoever buys this car I had a friend who has a 98 GS-T Spyder with the same exact problem and I don't know what the fix was however I do know she had to install a push button start to get the vehicle running.
