Default 1973 Mercedes Benz 280sel 4.5 litre XTRA CLEAN

This is my 1973 Mercedes benz 280SEL. I have about $3500 in the car and would like to break even with the car. A/C does not work, neither does the passenger rear window but everything else is in tip top shape. All power from the sunroof to the windows. Opera light in the back for passengers.

Interior is completely refurbished. No rust under the carpet, or rust on the floor panels at all for that matter. Frame is straight, no accident history. Original 88,XXX mile mercedes that has been babied.

All work (besides shock absorbers) was professionaly done at Atlantic autmotive, German motorcars (only bosch certified master technician in florida, second in the nation).
Whats new...
Motor mounts (both)
Tires (BF goodrich white walls)
Fresh oil change
Bosch fuel pump
injectors on the left cylinder bank as well as fuel lines replaced (the right bank of injectors were still in good condition)
Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks/struts (all 4 corners)
Interior is COMPLETELY brand new. Seats refurbished with new MB tex vinyl (came with car), blue german loop carpet. Dash has ZERO cracks and wood is still in great condition.

Whats wrong?
A/C
Passenger side rear window
rust hole in the trunk (this is not structural as verified by two shops. can be patched with fiberglass, would be better to use sheetmetal though).
Radiator is original and shows it. I am getting it recored very soon.
Paint... If your picky. Its the original "Riviera Blue" and does show some wear, especially in the front but it still looks great. Mercedes put over 5 coats from the factory.
trunk seal.
Some douchebag broke off my hoodstar and left it on my hood. I have the one from my parts car. Dont know if its any good.

Parts are easy to come by, cheap, and this thing is a cinch to work on. I frequently use ebay (both the US and german site), but also www.adsitco.com . I also look to the online vintage mercedes forums http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforu...aysprune=&f=12 .

This car needs maybe $3,000 to be completely perfect and by that I mean completely redone brakes (calipers rebuilt, new rotors, they work but its always nice to be "new"). Everything works. This car includes a parts car that has a full motor and transmission. The parts car alone contains over $2,000 dollars worth of parts that would be charged for core. The engine block is fine, and the transmission is one piece. The car also comes with 4 window motor assemblies.

Hows it ride? This car lives for the highway and will do 70 all day. The tranny shifts smooth, but I would recommend changing the fluid, just in case. This car is not concours quality, but would make a great survivor.

I have full documentation, including original owners manual, smog equipment manual, even the complete list of MB dealers in the US for the 1972 season. Includes a Haynes and Chilton's manual.

Specs - 4.5 lire iron block, aluminum heads V8 GAS (not diesel). Motor pumps about 200 HP and 300 ft/lb torque. ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION (this thing has an ecu!). LSD differential in rear, with fully independent suspension. 3 speed tranny.

These motors have been DOCUMENTED to last over 500,000 miles. So much that MB gives out badges according to how many documented miles you have, free of charge.

Pictures are in my gallery. They are too large to post. If you are interested please, dont hesitate to contact either by email or PM. I will give my number to those interested in purchasing the vehicle.

What it comes with
Complete parts car
haynes manual
chiltons manual
All new parts
new interior

Im looking to get $10,500, but Im entertaining all trades and/or offers. Need to sell because my family bought a new home and I have to decide between which of my toys to get rid of (other one is a 1970 olds 442). Its going to have to be this one. You will NOT be dissapointed and many can and will vouch for the quality of both the car and the ride (as well as the car I took with it).
