Default F/S or F/T: 1979 Jeep CJ-5

Well it’s time to trim the fat and the first thing to go is my project Jeep. I have a little one on the way and I’m sure with that I won’t have quite the time I used to have, let alone have the extra time for this project.

Details:
1979 JEEP CJ-5
3 Speed T150 Manny Tranny
4.2L I6
Manual Steering column
Dana 30 Front Axle
Dana 20 Rear
Dana 20 Transfer case

Details of extent of project:
I bought it right after the 4.2L was rebuilt. I’m not positive to the extent of the rebuild but it did run and idle perfect when I bought it. The body has been fixed and painted a metallic blue/green and has no deep rust anywhere on it. The frame is straight and rust free. So your going into the project good as the motor, body and frame are all in good condition.

What it needs:
As said this was a project for me and like any unfinished project it still needs things to be road worthy. The needs that I personally know of, Radiator, fuse block (you may be able to use the existing but not positive), the Steering column needs rebuilding(just a bushing kit), the front axle needs rebuilding(rebuild kits are cheap), the front drive shaft needs rebuilding. The braking system needs work. Those are the only mechanical things I know it needs.

Otherwise the interior needs completion (i.e. seats). With those things done I don’t see why it would not be street driveable.

I’m throwing in a brand new still in box Bestop Supertop (incl. all of the framing, new top, new windows, new 2 piece soft doors and all hardware, this is the best and most complete replacement top available at over $700 new), a Bestop Roll Bar padding kit (Black to match the top, again $100 new) and the seat risers for the interior, all you’ll need is the sliders and some sort of seat to finish. Last thing I have for it is the still in box Rearview and side mirror's.

This is perfect start for someone looking for a weekend toy or whatever.

Rock bottom price is $1500 as is. This is a deal in the Jeep world.
I will also trade for a 88-89 V8 Mustang so if your looking for a good start to a project with big potential hit me up.
