Need to get Rid of ASAP! $200 OBO, No Reasonable Offers Refused!
READ THIS PLEASE!!!
I have a 1988 Mercury Cougar for sale, automatic. Car says 189K on the digital display. Silver color, power everything (seats also) with cruise control. Red interior, very clean inside. Some cracks from sun on dash. Could also use paint job (clear coat is starting to go, mainly on hood), some dings from normal road use. Driver side window is up, but is loose on track, an easy fix. For a 16 year old car with the miles, this car looks pretty darn good!
Bought car to discover that it had a blown head gasket. Replaced head gasket and radiator (all of which is NEW), overhaul on everything, headers ground down professionally and machined. Two weeks after replacing all of that, engine went out on me, believed to be a broke piston or piston rod (Yet no sign of leaking oil). Will obviously need to be towed or pulled to your location. Hate to see this thing wasted at Cophers!
Great car for a quick replacement engine (3.8L V6), just don't have the time or resources to do the work! I have seen these engine go for as little as $200 on Ebay, and can be pulled from either a Cougar OR Thunderbird. Title lists as a LS coupe, but tag inside door says it is an XR7.
Could become great show car or project car, and engines are easy to find cheap! Will sell for $200 as is, or best offer. The body and interior are worth that by itself!
This would be a great car for anyone looking for a daily driver that is reliable (with new engine). Besides the engine, I never had any trouble with it! Heck, for under $600 you could have a great older luxury car!

no sorry, but I am sure that you could make that happen! All it needs is a new domestic engine, the car is just beautiful, and hell if I had the resources and the money I would friggen get and install the engine! But sadly I have my rice car now, and this thing needs to go, so please make an offer!
