This may belong in war stories buuutttt, since I just updated you guys on the mods I was doing I figured I'd share it directly with you.

So my buddy just bought an 08 m5 with Tubi Exhaust. After I got the mods I wanted a little barometer on how much more power I need to look for in order to enter the m5 arena.

We ran 3 times:

Twice from 40mph to 120-130:
1st: He must've forgotten to use steptronic because after he honked the third honk I immediately jumped out 2 cars and just walked away to 130.
2nd: Jumped out a half car and he started creeping up through 3rd, finished at 120 just ahead of me.
Once from a dig to 115:

Got a great launch (he didnt). Must've killed him by a couple seconds.

Before you jump to conclusions he was in "M" mode.

He probably just sucked at driving but it was a sick feeling nonetheless.

 

you know there are like 275 settings for the gear change timings etc?

and I'm not bullshitting.

 

You making 400+ whp? No steptronic gearbox in the m5 by the way.

1. 7-Speed SMG

or

2. 6-Speed Manual (US-Spec only)

Steptronic is an Automatic, which isn´t available for the M5.....would be pathetic anyways.

 

M mode can be programed to anything you want, track ready to snow mode
