Default BMW reliability question

I am looking at buying a 98+ BMW 5 series, (probably 528i w/ sport package) wanted to know how reliable this model car is. And things to look for when inspecting the car?

my bmw's have been the most reliable ive owned besides my honda's, definitely not the cheapest to repair when things go bad, every car eventually needs repairing. like any car, usual leaks and so forth. one thing i always check thoroughly, is the electrical.

if your mechanically inclined, you should be okay!. just be prepared to pay a little more on some parts.

ITs a car, just like every other car it needs regular tear and wear parts. Parts for me are equivalent to a honda. Because I drive a 4cylinder. But for m-series parts are way more expensive.

would you say its worth looking at a 1998 M3 w/ 133k for $5900? says it has new brakes all around, new tires and new spark plugs. and says it runs great of course.

528 is going to have an m50/52 in it

there is a known issue with the radiators being piles of crap, keep your eye on it look for breaks in the plastic top.

e36 m3s are very reliable i know many that are flogged on a daily basis and the only thing they destroy is tries.
