Default New to BMW - Wheel Fitment ?

Hey guys! Admittedly so, I don't know squat about BMW's for modifying them. However, my 16-y/o sister just picked up a '95 Bimmer. It's a 4 door sedan, maybe a 530? Don't really know.

Anyways, the car has stock wheels on it now, and she'd like to update it a bit, by upgrading to a set of OEM take-offs from another (newer) Bimmer.

Do you guys know what types/sizes, etc. that we should be looking at for her?

Thanks in advance,

I'd go 18x8 - 18x9. I believe the lug pattern is 5x120

What color is the car and what's the budget? Being 16 years old I personally wouldn't get her any nice wheels though lol!

BMW M-Parallels 18x8:

The BMW Style 5 is a 2 piece BBS wheel available in a dozen different sizes and offsets. You can find the 17x8 from an e39 5-series for $500-750 w/ tires.

The BMW Style 32 is a multispoke wheel similiar to the Alpina and would be cheaper than the M-Parallels and Style 5:

If you want to check out this thread I made on Bimmerforums it will show you some of the cleanest examples of e34's with both BMW and after-market wheels:

Wow, great post! Thanks bro! She has the stocker mesh wheels on their now. I don't know if she'll even keep the car at this point, just trying to gather info/ideas to try and convince her to keep it and spend some time working on it!

The offset on the 5 series is different than the 3 series so the 3 series wheels will not fit unless you use big spacers.

the wheels from the 7 series are close and will fit if the tires are not oversized.
there is a great deal of good 5 series info here. just run the search feature.

Also the weakest point on that car is the Auto Trans. If the car has over 125k miles on the car and the transmission fuild has never been changed I would avise her to start saving for a rebuild. It will be at least 2500 to fix.

As Barry said the 3 series cars have too high of an offset for use on an e34 without spacers. e39 wheels can be used with hubcentric spacers to drop the centerbore from 74.1 to 72.56. e38 wheels will be a direct bolt-on but tires will probably be a bit too large. A cheap upgrade are the 16" e38 (7 series) wheels. I had a set of staggered style 32's (well... i actually still have them and am selling them) but there is a common 55mph+ shake that comes when running the hubcentric rings and it got to be too much of a pain to me.

Is there somewhere that sells parts specifically for her car? Like a BMW performance catalog or online one even? She also needs a few replacement parts (OEM stuffs).
