Default s50 e30

got my s50 today. my friend at the shop nextdoor to mine got it unloaded from the truck and into mine with his forklift. when i got home, borrowing a hoist didnt work out and it was too late to rent one so unloading was a chore to say the least. it was storming and the power was out, and no homies were close by to help. i ended up getting it unloaded by myself with some good help from my girlfriend.

it was too late to do any work on the motor, but tomorrow after work ill start breaking it down. all gaskets/seals including head gasket are getting replaced. all vacuum and coolant hoses, sensors, water pump, injectors getting redone, maybe new coils, more stuff im forgetting. i will be using my getrag 260 transmission, stock driveshaft, and 3.73lsd. i have already made an adapter to plug the s50 harness into my e30's c101 connector. i have one or two uncertainties about the wiring but all will be clear as soon as its all plugged up.

should be fun! ill post pics of the motor tomorrow as i begin to get into it.

awesome! glad your one step closer can't wait to see the final product terrorizing the roads

yeah make sure you pick up the correct oil pan before you attempt to make it work in the e30, i think its the one out of a 5 series thats needed for some reason. or a custom one whichever you have the ability to have done cheaper

man ive been sick for the past 2+ days. didnt even go to work yesterday, tried working on the motor but my heads too cloudy to get anything done. not to mention paypal has royally fucked over my bank account and ive been in a dispute with them for more than a week all the while my accounts overdrafted so no cash. fuck paypal! watch your back with them.

bam2002, im in brandon. if i remember right, you are too? i wouldnt mind anyone coming by to look at it but its not much to look at now! plus im sick. hopefully this week ill be healthier and more will get done.

i dont have the e34 pan&stuff yet, nor do i have a brake booster. im not sure which ill use. im thinking of the 924/944 booster because the shaft is the same diameter, but the exact years and stuff arent clear to me, so ill probably end up using the 320 booster just like most people.

the heads pretty gunked up. all moving parts are nice and clean, just lots of crap on the inside walls like the stuff that builds up on inside of valvecovers. i dont wanna disassemble the head, but i want all this buildup cleaned off. can i take the whole assembled head to a shop and have them 'hot tank' it or whatever to get all this stuff off. it comes off real easy. someone recommend what to do please!

Hey man, I'm in Sarasota. My s50 is in transit to me as we speak. We'll have to meet up sometime and compare swaps!

I'm on r3v too. I'll be using the e30 getrag 260.
